How to Pray to Our God
- Basics
Prayer Preparation
- Find a quiet place indoors with a lamp or outdoors* with direct sunlight.
- Avoid possible interruptions.
- Use a thick cushion/pillow.
- Do not pray to an image of God, a statue of our Saviour Jesus Christ, a cross, the Holy Bible, and the like.
Note*: If your backyard is very private, you can pray outdoors. Otherwise, always pray indoors.
Prayer Gestures
- Kneel on both knees on the cushion/pillow in your most sincere and respectful manner.
- Keep looking at a ray of strong indoor light or sunlight throughout your prayers.
- Hold your right hand as a fist on your heart, with your left hand covering your right-hand fist.
- At the end of your prayers, use your right-hand fist to draw a cross from your forehead to your chest and then from your left shoulder to your right shoulder.
This symbolizes that you will follow our Saviour Jesus Christ, and renew yourself based on sound judgment of the truth and facts.
- Finally, bow down deeply and keep your whole body close to the ground in your most sincere and respectful manner.
Prayer Structure
You shall use the following prayer structure for every prayer:
“My God Who created the universes,
… (what you pray for)
I give glory to my God Who created the universes.
In the name of my Saviour Jesus Christ,
XXX (your name) prays.”
Do not mention any other spirits, prophets, saints, or humans in this prayer structure (highlighted in blue). Otherwise, you can be considered also worshipping the spirit, prophet, saint, or human.
